Incident Notice PI/HQ/IR/NO.2006
The Federation wishes to bring to public attention an incident during the Bermuda Triangle Sailing League opening fixture of the season.
Of the twelve registered participants, seven failed to complete the course. Their current whereabouts have not been confirmed.
The committee notes that conditions on the day were described as "unremarkable" by the race official, who completed the course without difficulty. The race official has since also not been located.
Search coordination has been referred to the relevant maritime authorities. The Federation has offered administrative support.
The BTSL season will continue as scheduled. Replacement crew applications are now being accepted. Applicants are advised that prior sailing experience is preferred but not required.
The Federation considers the matter ongoing.
